It is always distressful when you have to leave your dog at home(for you and your pet)Here is some advice to help you with this.Try leaving your dog alone for a short period,do this by picking up your keys and leaving him alone for about 1 minute. As he gets used to this, then gradually increase the time that you stay away. This will help to accustom your dog to your absence.Don't be to emotional when saying good bye or when greetings him.Just pat your dog on the head and say a quick good bye or hello. It is best to keep your dog confined in a safe place while you are away from him.Always leave a bowl of water and some chew toys to play with.Try Exercising your dog for about an hour each day, other than in the back garden, This will help your dog feel more comfortable in other locations.Praise your dog frequently, this will build its self confidence. If you Punish your dog this only increases anxiety and makes things worse.
