Butterflies are very beautiful flying insects, and are mostly brightly colored. You will normally see butterflies during the day.The butterfly on average lives for only two weeks. The adults butterfly has two jobs to do,eat and reproduce. They do not have any chewing mouth-parts,so they eat by sipping liquids, which is usually nectar. You will find many butterflies( male) sipping the moisture out of puddles, wet sand, and soil.By sipping the the moisture they are also benefiting from salt in the water, which is thought to increase fertility in a male butterfly. If you would like Butterflies to visit your garden then you must have some suitable nectar plants. When planting your nectar plants,it is best to choose a sunny sheltered spot,as butterflies like the warmth. If you plant a lot of nectar plants then this will encourage many different species. It is vital to have spring flowers in your garden when the butterflies are coming out of hibernation. By watering your plants well, this will produce a lot more nectar for the hungry butterflies. Here are some plants you may like to buy,to encourage butterflies into your garden.Buddleia, Aubretia,Cornflower,Sweet William,Lavender,Honeysuckle,Chrysanthemum,Hebe and Cornflower.
